TIMPLE CONEJERO

Pese que se trata de un instrumento que no es originario de CANARIAS,  hoy esta presente en todas  las islas canarias formando parte indiscutible  de su IDENTIDAD Y CULTURA.

Se podría decir que la CUNA del TIMPLE se localiza en la isla de Lanzarote, lugar donde se establecen los primeros ARTESANOS destacando entre ellos Simón Morales Tavío (Teguise 1897 - 1967 ), quien ideó la introducción de la JOROBA y estableció las bases, métodos y técnicas para la construcción artesanal del El TIMPLE CONEJERO . Técnicas que aun hoy sigo  aplicando en la construcción de mis Timples.  

La construcción del TIMPLE CONEJERO ( Timple de Teguise ) es una actividad artesanal que ha evolucionado a lo largo del tiempo, mejorando no sólo en la técnica y en la obtención de la sonoridad final, sino en la comodidad del instrumento para su interpretación, así como en unos acabados, cuanto menos, dignos de ser admirados. Variando muy poco el proceso de fabricación.

El TIMPLE CONEJERO, conlleva un laborioso proceso de construcción artesanal que requiere conocer muy bien el trabajo de la madera así como las cualidades de estas.

Cada elemento de los que componen nuestro TIMPLE CONEJERO, es elaborado y ensamblado de manera totalmente ARTESANAL,  utilizando actualmente las mismas técnicas y modos de la escuela de Teguise.

Para el ensamblado, solo se usan colas que adhieren los distintos componentes del Instrumento siendo el acabado final con GOMA LACA, ACEITES Y RESINAS NATURALES. 

En mi trabajo artesano mis manos desempeñan una función fundamental pues con la ayuda de herramientas, que en muchos casos han sido construidas o adaptadas por mi mismo, realizo cada uno de las piezas que conforman el TIMPLE CONEJERO.

Although it is an instrument that does not originate in the CANARY ISLANDS, today it is present in all the Canary Islands, forming an indisputable part of their IDENTITY AND CULTURE.

It could be said that the CRADLE of the TIMPLE is located on the island of Lanzarote, the place where the first CRAFTSMEN settle, highlighting among them Simón Morales Tavío (Teguise 1897 - 1967), who devised the introduction of the "JOROBA" and established the bases, methods and techniques for the artisanal construction of El TIMPLE CONEJERO. Techniques that even today I continue to apply in the construction of my Timples.

The construction of the TIMPLE CONEJERO (Timple de Teguise) is an artisanal activity that has evolved over time, improving not only in technique and in obtaining the final sound, but also in the comfort of the instrument for its interpretation, as well as in some finishes, at least, worthy of being admired. Very little variation in the manufacturing process. 

The TIMPLE CONEJERO, entails a laborious process of artisanal construction that requires a very good knowledge of woodworking as well as its qualities.

Each element that makes up our TIMPLE CONEJERO, is elaborated and assembled in a totally HANDMADE way, currently using the same techniques and ways of the Teguise school.

For the assembly, only glues that adhere the different components of the Instrument are used, being the final finish with LACQUER, OILS AND NATURAL RESINS.

In my artisan work my hands play a fundamental role because with the help of tools, which in many cases have been built or adapted by myself, I make each of the pieces that make up the TIMPLE CONEJERO.
